Inside the Smith Storage Building
Liggett & Myers ran its own printing shop in the Smith Storage Building, built in 1906, a few blocks north of the Durhm complex. The operation had a label press and a carton press. The facility's last print run occurred on November 29, 2006. Today, the Smith Storage Building has been renovated and houses several departments of Duke University.

In this building, employees worked with ink and ink engravers, as well as printing presses and slitter machines to prepare both labels and cartons for several different brands of product.
